Halo: CD.
British singer-songwriter Bakar is back with his highly anticipated second album ‘Halo’, the follow-up to his 2022 debut ‘Nobody’s Home’.
The album includes the UK Top 20 hit and gold single ‘Hell n Back’ (over 60m UK streams) and new single ‘Alive!’ which released on 21st June with an iconic video directed by rubberband.
On ‘Halo’ the young Londoner can be compared to a modern-day Jack Kerouac, exploring the dichotomy Bakar feels between the nomadic loneliness of a life constantly on the road and the “lifestyle” of being a musician.
Having played at Coachella Festival for the first time this Spring, Bakar will appear on festival stages in the US and Europe this Summer, including a main stage slot at Reading & Leeds over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Then he will embark on a UK & European tour this November culminating in his highly-anticipated hometown show at London’s Eventim Apollo on Tuesday, 28th November.
Resisting categorisation during his steady growth into the spotlight, Bakar offers all the lyrical prowess of a rapper, the virtuosic poise of a producer, and the pop craft of a singer-songwriter. Born in Camden, North London and raised on Choice FM, RnB CDs, and the Quran, Bakar’s early musical influences spanned from London’s burgeoning grime scene to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and English indie acts like The Maccabees. Bakar propelled into the limelight with his 2018 mixtape BADKID, produced with frequent collaborator Zack Nahome in what has become a fruitful partnership; his US #1 single ‘Hell N Back’ swiftly followed in 2019 - a track currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity, having peaked in the Top 20 of the UK Official Singles Chart - a career highlight for the young Brit.
Bakar narrates the universal story of love, and the ever-changing human experience through his music, with upcoming second album Halo being his most captivating work yet.
