Originally released in 1970, Egg was the debut album from the London progressive rock trio of Dave Stewart, Mont Campbell and Clive Brooks. Emerging from the late-60s British underground, the band developed a distinctive keyboard-led sound, blending prog and psychedelia with jazz and classical influences.
Featuring tracks including “While Growing My Hair,” “I Will Be Absorbed” and the ambitious “Symphony No. 2,”the album is a cult favourite of early British prog. More than 50 years on, Egg remains an inventive and distinctive record, with plenty to appeal to established prog fans and new listeners discovering the era.
